2021 Dodge Challenger

1970 was the year when one of the most legendary American muscle cars, the Dodge Challenger, was born. The car is often compared to the likes of the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, but it’s different from them in a fair number of ways. While the other two vehicles are meant to driven hard, this is primarily for relaxed cruising. However, it can leap up to the demands of enthusiasts as well, with the SRT Hellcat churning out a whopping 717 hp.

Trims to See:

2021 Dodge Challenger fans will be able to purchase amongst following trims:

  • SXT
  • R/T
  • GT
  • R/T Scat Pack
  • SRT Hellcat

R/T Scat Pack owners are in for a few treats here. Not only will they be able to add ST branding to their Brembo brake calipers, but they will also get a unique Shaker Hood that increases the horsepower. All variants get RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) and AWD (All Wheel Drive) options.

Exterior Appearance:

The widebody look gives this vehicle the perfect muscle car appearance, along with the Shaker Hood on the bonnet of the R/T Scat Pack. It comes with the latest retro themed packages and new paint options.  The headlight shapes are such that they increase air flow towards the vehicle’s front. Quad headlights at the front make the vehicle’s appearance very similar to the Challenger from the 70’s. All badges such as R/T give it a classic look.

What’s Under the Hood:

V6 models get AWD, which has been made given to a muscle car for the first time. 20-inch wheels are optional on SXT AWD and standard on the GT. Buyers will be absolutely thrilled to know about the following engine options:

  1. The base engine here is a 3.6 liter V6, putting out 305 hp of power and 268 lbs.-ft of torque. RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) is available, and the vehicles gets an 8-speed automatic transmission.
  2. 7 liter engine with 375 hp of power (R/T) and 410 lbs.-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
  3. 4 liter Hemi V8 with 485 hp of power and 475 lbs.-ft of torque.
  4. 2 liter V8 that produces a humongous 717 hp of power and 656 lbs.-ft of torque, being mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Interesting to see that for performance’s sake, more manual transmission options are available as compared to automatic.

Interior Appearance:

The 2021 Dodge Challenger gets a new memory feature among trims which get a power-adjustable steering column. Space within the vehicle is more than before, which is a refreshing change. Yet another good feature is that its seats are now more comfortable than rivals.

An 8.40inch touchscreen infotainment system can be seen with FCA’s U-Connect System, which is the same as last year. Interior materials all around are soft and feel upmarket, and the car gets a classy leather covered adjustable steering wheel. Launch control for getting the vehicle off the blocks quickly is also present. Rumble bee embroidery is present on the seats.

A total of 16 cubic feet of cargo space are available in the 2021 Dodge Challenger.
